Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering & Availability

How far in advance should I place my order?

Advance notice is strongly recommended, especially for custom orders, catering packages, holidays, and large events. Availability is limited and order volume varies throughout the year.

Short-notice orders may occasionally be accommodated depending on schedule and sourcing availability.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to secure all orders and reserve production time on the calendar.

Orders are not considered confirmed until the deposit has been received.

When is the final balance due?

Final payment timelines vary based on the type and scale of the order.

Standard custom orders: Remaining balance is due 48 hours prior to pickup or delivery.
Catering packages, dessert tables, and large event orders: Remaining balance is due 7 days prior to pickup or delivery.

Because large-scale orders require advance purchasing, production scheduling, and preparation beginning well before the event date, production will not begin until final payment has been received. Late payments may result in cancellation of the order and forfeiture of the deposit.

Can I make changes to my order?

Changes to orders must be requested as early as possible and are subject to availability, scheduling, and sourcing constraints.

All change requests must be submitted in writing through the official Stone & Whisk email address. Change requests sent through social media messages, text messages, or verbal conversations are not considered official requests and may not be tracked or accommodated.

Standard custom orders: Changes must be requested at least 7 days prior to the pickup or delivery date.
Catering packages, dessert tables, and large event orders: Changes must be requested at least 14 days prior to the pickup or delivery date.

Once production preparation, ingredient sourcing, or scheduling has begun, modifications may no longer be possible. Stone & Whisk cannot guarantee change requests submitted after these timelines.

What is your cancellation policy?

Deposits are non-refundable and secure both your event date and production time.

Because many orders require advance ingredient sourcing, scheduling, and custom preparation, cancellations made after production has begun are not eligible for refunds.

At Stone & Whisk’s discretion, orders canceled with significant advance notice may be eligible for partial credit toward a future order.

Do you accept holiday orders?

Yes — holiday availability is limited and books quickly. We strongly recommend placing orders as early as possible for major holidays and seasonal events.

Holiday menus, ordering windows, and pickup schedules will be announced separately throughout the year.

🌿 Ingredients & Dietary Information

Do you use organic ingredients?

We prioritize high-quality, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, including organic and small-batch products whenever possible.

Do you offer gluten-free options?

Yes — select items are available gluten-friendly. However, all products are prepared in a home kitchen where allergens including wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, and soy are present. Stone & Whisk is not a certified gluten-free facility and is not recommended for individuals with celiac disease or severe gluten sensitivities.

Can you accommodate food allergies?

Stone & Whisk is happy to discuss ingredient questions and potential modifications whenever possible. However, all products are prepared in a home kitchen where common allergens including wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, and soy are present.

Because cross-contact cannot be fully prevented, Stone & Whisk cannot guarantee any item to be completely allergen-free.

Do you use artificial ingredients or sweeteners?

No. Stone & Whisk focuses on real, minimally processed ingredients and does not use artificial dyes, artificial flavors, or non-nutritive sweeteners.

What sweeteners do you use?

Stone & Whisk uses a variety of thoughtfully selected sweeteners depending on the product and desired texture, flavor, and finish. In addition to traditional sugars where appropriate, ingredients may include glucose syrup, pure maple syrup, honey, piloncillo, coconut sugar, date sugar, and date syrup.

These ingredients are chosen intentionally to support flavor development, texture, moisture, caramelization, and overall balance rather than relying on heavily processed sweetener systems.

Why are your products priced differently than grocery store bakeries?

Stone & Whisk focuses on small-batch production, premium ingredients, and labor-intensive techniques that are not typically used in large-scale commercial baking.

Many menu items are made with imported Irish butter, Belgian and French couverture chocolate, stone-milled flour, naturally derived colors, premium olive and avocado oils, and thoughtfully sourced ingredients selected for both quality and flavor.

Every order is handcrafted in small quantities with an emphasis on detail, freshness, and ingredient integrity.
